For the past 18 years, Newport's true "surfer's event" has kept its focus on the local competitor. The Newport Pro has a rich history of providing excellent amateur AND Pro competition and has been a key ingredient in fostering mainland US professional surfing.

Now as a pivotal event on the Macy’s California Trifecta Surf Series presented by Jeep, a first place result brings competitors closer to a huge cash prize with $33,333 on the line for the surfer that takes first place in all 3 of events of the series or a $10,000 cash prize to the year end points leader.

Despite the presence of big-name pros, the local community divisions remain the core of this unique contest which provides next-generation stars and local rivals an opportunity to battle it out in their own backyard.
