What about Mike Purpus' "Aqua-Lids" or wearing boardshorts outside of his wetsuit?

People claiming how great stand up paddle surfing is can bite me. The board is horribly un maneuverable at stupid looking. Granted, doing it in big barreling surf is wicked, but only like half a percent of the paddle surfers are doing that. Webbed gloves are still worse though.

localism is the worst of all; negativity as a trend... weak. free your mind and enjoy the ride

you forgot to add the retro surfer(or guys who cant surf so might as well use the "im old school" excuse)movement. old boards that dont turn and old beavertails and long-john wetsuits that dont work. new technology happens for a reason. its like going to play tennis with a tiny wood racket, short shorts, a headband, knee high socks and chucks. you idiots care more about how you look than actually advancing your surfing. wow you're so cool hipster. kooks have always taken the position of soul surfer as an excuse for sucking. so go get that new tinted hull from mollusk and grow a beard. poseurs

cell phones i agree especially when driving. leashes? wow man you're so hardcore. yeah i know, you never eat it sending a projectile through the lineup, if you do beware cause if anyone gets hurt by your board, its because they're not as old school tough as you so deal with it. popouts have their place since they last longer, and the average surfer wont have to constantly buy disposable pu boards. better for the environment. if you think the twinnies rasta is surfing are old school. check again, theyre actually nothing like twins of the past. theyre quite modern and ultralite. besides he's an exception. wake up its 2008. beavertails...ha ha ha
