So you’re having a rough start to your Fantasy Surfer season. Kelly’s all over the place, Bede’s been uncharacteristically erratic, and the ASP’s changing their rulebook mid-season. We feel for you, we really do. To cheer you up, we’re announcing the Grand Prize for the 2009 Men’s Fantasy Surfer winner and the good news is that you, my friend, are still very much in the race.
This year’s winner and a companion are headed out to the Gold Coast for a week with VIP passes for the Quiksilver Pro with a round trip flight for two and accommodations completely comped. But here’s the best part: This year, only your top six scores of the 10 events count towards your final score, so if you haven’t signed up yet or your teams haven’t been looking so hot, there’s still plenty of time for redemption. Just sign up and pick your team before J-Bay and you’re still in the hunt for a free trip to Oz for the Quiksilver Pro. But don’t wait too long as J-Bay starts July 9.

I am sitting in my office at work with no windows, starring at my Shane Dorian Teahupo'o poster, waiting for it to be 4PM so I can hopefully catch some waves before dark. I just want to surf man. I am going to CSULB for journalism (hopefully work at SurferMag someday) and this would be the greatest oppurtunity karma could give me. I'm not a tard or a barn, so it won't be a waste. Thanks, Peace.

Twisting wrenches as a Master Plumber wishing we could surf more. As a youngster it was dawn patrol at Surfside every available weekend and skateboarding at Meatgrinder or Easy-7. We made trips to South Padre every Thanksgiving and Easter. After high school,a couple of trips to Cal. (LaJolla and later San Clement)only to find it very small and then later a trip to Acapulco with my first true surf. My best friend Bill and I have tought our friends, sons, daughters, nieces and nephews how to surf as long as I can remember. We love to surf, yes, even here at the Gulf. It would fill my lifes dream if you would please send some surf my way. Untill then it is back to the wrenches. I am hungry for some real surf. Hope to see you in the water. Thank you and keep up the faith, Kevin Nunez Master Plumber M#36273
