HBO SURF NOIR A Family Of Drug Addled Surfers Set To Replace The Sopranos And Sex And The City
Hollywood stuntman and big wave charger Brock Little heads up stunts for the new HBO show "John From Cincinnati"

The Surf Contingent:
Can you imagine a brainstorming session with the following ensemble of aquatic personalities? This group spans the spectrum from quirky writers to big wave hellmen to old school legends to red hot groms—a diverse collection to say the least.
Kem Nunn
A project described as “surf noir” wouldn’t make it far without novelist Kem Nunn. The author of Tapping the Source, The Dogs of Winter and Tijuana Straights, Nunn is one of the darkest—and most creative—novelists and surf writers out there. And as anyone who’s read his work can attest, he’s intimately familiar with the seedy underbelly of the lifestyle. Nunn’s contributions as a co-executive producer should go a long way towards lending John From Cincinnati an authentic—if not somewhat tarnished—tone.
Steve Hawk
Former SURFER Magazine Editor Steve Hawk knows what a surfer looks, talks, smells and acts like, which is why he’s been hired as a writer and surf consultant. With decades of experience in the field of surf journalism, his writing and research should nicely balance any inaccuracies conceived by the Hollywood folks.
Herbie Fletcher
Where would a tale about a crew of black sheep surfers be without at least one Fletcher? As the patriarch of one of the most volatile, eccentric and talented families in surfing, Herbie has become a fixture on the John From Cincinnati set as a consulting producer.
Grayson Fletcher
The son of Christian Fletcher, Grayson has been cast as Shaun Yost, a skater and the youngest member of the battered surf clan at the center of the pilot’s plot.
Brock Little
Big wave legend Brock Little has turned to stunt work over the past few years and, along with amply dosing the cast with his sarcastic and hysterical wit, that’s exactly what he’s been doing on set as a stunt coordinator.
John John Florence
The grom who would be king has also been brought aboard. However, it’s still unclear whether Florence will only do stunt work or if a role has been written for him.
The Hollywood Crew:
These brave entertainers have not only chosen to work with a pack of waterheads, they’ve also decided to take on surfing itself, subject matter that’s historically proven to be both tricky and frustrating for Hollywood.
