Founded by Scott with volunteers from the WindanSea Surf Club, the event has also been aided by former co-director, now volunteer director and daughter of the original Mister Pipeline, Tifani Swink, and this year’s co-director, Adam Bloomberg, who will move into the spot of director next year. Attended in the past by legendary surfers like Mike Doyle, John Peck, Reno Abellera, Peter King and Saxon Boucher, the Kid’s Day at the Beach is also finding a place in the heart of legendary surfers along with the wider surf community. “Thanks to a posting in Surfer Magazine, this year’s event found over 120 volunteers working with some-65 kids,” said Scott. We don’t want to turn anyone away, so next year we’re hoping to double the number of kids.”
Kid’s Day at the Beach organizers are thankful to their faithful sponsors including: Silvergate Bank, the YMCA, Reef Sandals, Quiksilver, MG Ink Silk screens, Headhunter Sunscreen, Surfer, Surfing, Surf Shot and TransWorld Surf Magazines.
