VIRTUAL HELICOPTER: An ambitious project to photograph the entire California coastline, dubbed the California Coastal Records Project, is the brain child of Ken Adelman of Corralitos, Ca. Check it out for yourself at www.californiacoastline.org.

CHIPPER BRO: After an incredible 15-year ride as Mr. Zog's CEO and right hand man, David Letinsky is moving on from SexWax. Following his passion for teaching surfing, David has joined forces with "Chipper Bro" Bell at surfclass.com. Their combined vision is to "share the stoke" and teach the entire process of surfing to all.

HAPPY HAWAIIANS: Rip Curl re-signs the triple threat of Pancho Sullivan, Jamie O'Brien and Kekoa Bacalso to long term contracts. Let's see, Pancho is power, Jamie is versatility and Kekoa is youth. Sounds like a smart move.

CRABBY BENEFIT: Volcom has helped organize a benefit concert for Bali terror blast victim Steve "Crabby" Cabler. Check it on February 8th at the Grove in Anaheim.

NOTHING BEATS A GOOD JOB: SIMA announced the launch of an official surf industry job board on the association's web site. SIMA hooked up with Tom Pezman & Associates and their new action sports-oriented job site www.boardsportjobs.com so that surf companies can seek out qualified candidates for open positions. Individuals seeking employment in the industry will also be able to review available positions.

HARD CHARGER CAMP: Rochelle Ballard will host the Rochelle Ballard Surf Camp for young women at Camp Mokuleia, Oahu, lending her energies to developing the sport's future in Hawaii. Presented by O'Neill and Reef, the three-day camp (January 31st to February 2nd, 2003) will cater to female surfers between the ages of 8 and 19 years who have an interest in competitive surfing. You can sign up online at www.rochelleballard.com or call Camp Coordinator Theresa McGregor on Tel: (808) 283-7144.

OLD BOYS NETWORK: Quiksilver and the ASP inked up a deal to continue to run the ASP's Masters division through 2005. I love this stuff. Nothing beats Curren v. Kong at 10' Makaha. However, it seems a bit rigged. How come you don't see east coasters such as Wes Laine, Pat Mulhern or Jeff Crawford in these events? Who decides this stuff?
