GALLAZ YOU COULD MAKE IT: If you're in O'cide during July come check out the 2nd Annual Gallaz Pro which is scheduled for July 16-20th. That's the weekend prior to the US Open of Surfing so there should be plenty of rippers in town. We, as in Surfer magazine, is also coming aboard to sponsor the Surfer Shop Challenge, a retail tag team event that will run in conjunction with the men's and women's WQS events.
HOW CAN YOU GET ...LOST? Check out the new ride of sales Rep Aaron Griffiths. Nice ride. Nissan and others hooked Griffiths up with this Pathfinder. If it's got GPS he can't get lost , right?
IT'S NOT AFGHANISTAN, IT'S PARADISE: The good folks at Playa Kandahar surf club have sent in this little tidbit..."In an effort to entice more surfers to experience the warm water and beautiful waves, Playa Kandahar Surf Club is reducing it's rates by 25% starting May 1." Check them out for fun and sun, not to mention super good (Taliban free) waves.
LEGENDS OF T-STREET: T Street Surf wants us to help get the word out regarding San Clemente legend Shane Beschen. Beschen wil be signing autographs on Sunday April 27th from Noon until 2:00 PM. In addition there will be a refreshments for all as well as a free raffle featuring Monument Clothing , Dirty Dog Sunglasses, Split Clothing and a T Street Surfboard to the Grand Prize winner.
FREE TO THE BEACH: The National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) recently announced that Freestyle watches has signed up as the official timing sponsor of the 2003 NSSA National and Western Championships.
FOR ART'S SAKE: The Surf Gallery will feature "The Big Show" by Drew Brophy on Saturday, April 26, 2003 from 6-10 p.m. in Laguna Beach. If you haven't had a chance to check out Brophy's work up close, now's your chance.
