FANTASY SURFER PRESENTED BY BOOST MOBILE: Rip Curl Pro Search Chile Preview

Chile serving up a hot bowl for Ramon Navarro. Hopefully, we can expect more of the same.

Here are 10 surfers who could potentially do very well at the Rip Curl Search WCT in Chile:

Kelly Slater (Fantasy Surfer Value: $12,000,000) - After a decent start to the year, Slater was dispatched early at the Billabong Pro Teahupoo. Look for the 8-time world champ to make a serious run at his first event victory of the year.

Mick Fanning (Fantasy Surfer Value: $12,000,000) - Can Mick keep his incredible start going? That's the question that will be on everyone's mind as we watch this event. One thing to keep in mind is the fact that event sponsor Rip Curl is also Mick's main sponsor. Do you think they would let their top team rider head into this event unprepared? Not a chance. Mick will have more water time at this wave than any other surfer on tour by the time the start of the event rolls around.

Kai Otten (Fantasy Surfer Value: $4,000,000) - With a semifinals appearance at Teahupoo, the tide seems to be turning for this young Aussie. After a few hard years on the WQS, Otten appears to be setting himself up for a solid WCT career. Great performances at Snapper Rocks and Tahiti have given him a spot in the top 10, and a bit more confidence. Look for this powerful goofy-foot to continue his run of good results in heavy left-hand waves.

Bobby Martinez (Fantasy Surfer Value: $9,000,000) - With his inconsistent start in 2007 and his hefty nine million dollar price tag, there will be a large percentage of Fantasy Surfer users who stay away from selecting this Californian. But don't let that discourage you - Martinez is a surfer who seems to do well when nobody expects him to. Last year's Mundaka and Teahupoo events are good examples. He's going to turn his year around at some point and the long lefts in Chile would be a good bet.

Leonardo Neves (Fantasy Surfer Value: $3,500,000) - He's a big, strong regular-foot who just needs a break when it comes to the heat draws in order to have his breakthrough event. So far he's lost to Joel Parkinson at Snapper Rocks, Tom Whitaker at Bells, and Dayyan Neve at Teahupoo. Those first two losses were to top 10 surfers at breaks they are very familiar with. Being from Brazil, just across the South American continent, Neves will already be comfortable by the time he arrives.

Michael Campbell (Fantasy Surfer Value: $5,500,000) - With such a remarkable comeback so far, Campbell is one of the feel-good stories of the year. But Campbell isn't really about the warm fuzzy feelings. He's a cutthroat competitor who has a great shot in whatever event he enters.

Damien Hobgood (Fantasy Surfer Value: $10,250,000) - Coming off a huge win over Mick Fanning at Teahupoo, Hobgood will be looking to stay in contention with another good result. This year's Rip Curl Search WCT event is perfectly tailored to his style. Hobgood excels in hollow left-hand waves, so this should be yet another event where the expectations (and results) will be high for the world's current #3.

Bede Durbidge (Fantasy Surfer Value: $8,250,000) - Have you seen where Durbidge is ranked this year? He's currently at #5 in the world - one spot above that Slater guy. It's a pretty safe bet that he's figured something out this year and is setting himself up for a solid run at the world title.

Adrian Buchan (Fantasy Surfer Value: $3,750,000) - You don't really hear much about Buchan on a regular basis. What you do hear is funny little stories about hanging with his friends and having a good time. What you don't hear is how hard this guy charges when the conditions get big. If the surf is overhead, look for Buchan to finish in the top half in the final results for this event.

Dean Morrison (Fantasy Surfer Value: $7,500,000) - Less than six per cent of Fantasy Surfer users currently have this regular-foot on their teams. A shocking statistic given how hard Morrison charges in waves of consequence. If he can avoid some of the extremely high seeds early on, look for him to push towards the quarterfinals and beyond.
