April 21, 2004 -- Tom Curran continued his march to the finals after winning in the morning fog, then finishing second to Cordell Miller during heat 5 of the round of 128 in the afternoon. The San Clemente locals also had something to cheer about as Tanner Gudauskas advanced to the round of 96 after finishing 1st and 2nd in his two heats today. Jason Shibata had a close call, but grabbed a key wave with under 2 minutes left in his heat to move on, and Wesley DeSouza continued to look strong. Decent weather and slightly building swell are expected for tomorrow.
