EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
by Brendon Bosworth
SurferMag.com Correspondent

How does it feel pulling on your vest, knowing you're here to defend the title?
It's really exciting. There aren't many guys who have won it twice in a row. My mate Jake Patterson is one of them and he's inspired me to do it

Who would you want to meet most in the final?
Someone easy" (laughs). But there aren't any easy competitors here today. Nah, someone good, like Parko. He was ripping today; I mean he got beaten with a ten!

You still riding your Firewires?
Yeah, they're all I've been riding for the last few years. I like they way they go and I haven't broken one in over a year. My old boards were usually pretty disposable.

What's up with your new training regime? I saw you on the beach with a medicine- ball the other day?
I'm training really hard and focusing on being fit and flexible. I'm working with a medicine-ball and a fit-ball, working on core-strengthening.

Does your physical fitness correlate with your mental focus?
Yeah, for sure. I'm out to win the world title. It's going to take a lot of catching up after the last events, but I'm going to fight till the end. Kelly has really made us want to beat him; he's got a target on his back for sure.
