I desperately NEED to go surfing again. I was an avid surfer of both the East and the West coast, until I was almost killed in a motorcycle accident. I was placed in a coma in the hospital for 11 months. Now that I can walk again, I have started boogie boarding religiously. My family sold my two Rusty surfboards when I was injured, because they did not think I would ever surf again. But low and behold I can surf again! I am wanting desperately to get back into the ocean, with my surfboard. I hope that it can be a new surfboard you guys have so generously given me.

I am from Ohio and this past summer I quit my job and took a road-trip to the East Coast, traveling from Jersey to Myrtle Beach living out of my car. I bought a surfboard and taught myself to surf. Anybody want the movie rights?? It was a blast! The only problem is I am back in Ohio now and the "surf shops" definitely don't have boards. I will be back on the water plenty of times in the future and considering there will be many different places with many different wave types it would be amazing to get some different options to work with!

I cannot express as a surfer, teacher and long time reader of Surfer Magazine (1974) just how disappointed I am with the editing, or lack of in this case, of the June, 2010 edition. Sitting on page 98 with headline 'Pro Surfing Has As Much In Common...' is a picture of a supposed "pro" surfer with a cigarette hanging in his mouth looking about to strike a match for the lighting.....I thought of 100 other things to say about this picture, the lack of foresight and responsibility plain as day, but it was all hateful and the last thing I want to do is set a bad example for any young reader that may come across this postwake up people....quit selling out to this negative lifestyle Hollywood keeps throing.....be a leader in the surfing world...WAKE UP!
