SURFING OR SNOWBOARDING?
MAMMOTH MOUNTAIN, CALIFORNIA, JANUARY 2007

"The thing I like most about snowboarding is the high elevation. The higher the elevation, the more mental clarity I feel."
"Both. I surf all summer and snowboard all winter. I went to Cabo and Panama last summer and now I'm up here in Mammoth for the winter."
"Surfing, because surfers don't wear shoes. Shoes aren't sexy. Rainbow sandals are hot. But snowboard boots are not. The only downside to surfers is the funky neck tan line they get from wearing wetsuits."

"Surfing leaves less of an ecological footprint since there are no chairlifts at the beach. Both surfing and snowboarding provide me with soul fulfillment. But with snowboarding it feels like your cheating riding up on the chairlift."
"Surfing. You can tell if a surfer is hot or not from a distance, but snowboarders are hidden behind their goggles and all the bulky snow gear. Surfers wear less clothing and glisten when the come out of the water."
"Snowboarders live dangerously. I like dangerous boys. But surfers have nice tans and sun-bleached hair. Ideally I'd like one for each season: a snowboarder for winter and a surfer for summer."

"That's a tough one but I'd say surfing. I like the beach more than the mountains so I'd rather hang out with a surfer guy. Plus surfers have better bodies. All that paddling must work the upper body."
"If I had to choose one or the other I'd surf. Especially if it was in Indo."
"I think kiteboarding is better than both. And I think snowkiting should be brought to Mammoth. There's a lot of good terrain here. Plus you don't have to buy a lift ticket."
