“'Bogen.' It means a redneck or hillbilly. I think most Australian girls refer to guys who are jackasses as 'Bogens'. Coming from the south and having an appreciation for what a redneck is, to hear that defined in other cultures is pretty amusing.”
“'Road Train'. It's like a semi-truck with five trailers and a huge cage on the front. Apparently they go 100 miles an hour delivering freight all over Australia and just run over animals and whatever else gets in their war. My friend saw one with Kangaroo parts and blood and guts flying off it. ”
“I was under the impression everyone in Australia called each other Brian. Never been to Australia and my only contact is those 'Monty Python' scenes where a guy named Brian shows up at a pub and the bartender and everyone else is also named Brian. They just keep calling each other Brian over and over again. ”

“My favorites are 'Sheila' instead of woman, 'TA' in place of thanks, and 'Wooly' for sheepskin. You could put them all together and say, 'TA for the Wooly Sheila.' it would mean: 'Woman that was very kind of you to give me that sheepskin rug.' ”
“I think Australians have more creative ways to say crazy or loony. Instead they say 'Barmy' or 'Mad' or 'Bonkers'. I learned those from watching the Australian soap opera call 'Neighbors' with Natalie Imbruglia.”
“One of my favorites is 'How's ya pie?' It's kind of like 'How ya goin?' i got it from ASL magazine where they were asking one of the pros 'How's ya pie?' and he's like, ah, pie's good and well, like meat pie.' ”

“I don't know any accept for the thing the Alligator Hunter used to say all the time. 'Krikey.' I think it's some kind of exclamation when something unpleasant is happening. Like 'Krikey! Alligator Poo!' ”
“My favorite is 'Steamah.' It means wetsuit. I also like 'Pohm' which stands for: Prisoner of Her Majesty..”
“I like that they add an 'O' to the end of everything. Especially pro surfer's names. It's funny to me how everybody has their own way of nicknaming people. ”
