Victor Ribas (Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) floated through his round three heat against Mick Fanning (Aus) but was not able to overcome the high scores he needed to advance to round four. Fanning left Ribas in a combo situation requiring a score of 14.51. Ribas was eliminated from the Globe WCT Fiji 2006.
