By now we all know Mason Ho's pedigree is hard to beat, and with two Pipe Masters in the family, it may be impossible. Mason's a competent Pipe surfer in his own right, and be hit heaving Indo, ledgy Tahiti, or right in his own backyard on the North Shore, he's not afraid to pull in. But as of late he's demonstrated a propensity for winning contests…even in small, crappy conditions. His most notable accomplishment was at the U.S. Open in Huntington last year where he surfed from the trials all the way through the to quarterfinals where he was eventually bested by Bobby Martinez and Roy Powers. He's also picked up a couple ASP Junior wins in the last year as well. “I really like watching Mason surf because you never know what he's going to do, tells Oxnard junior Nick Rozsa. “He's gotten really good at airs lately, and his contest surfing has improved too. Small and compact with a low center of gravity, Mason's proved he can rip with the best of them.
