26| Tanner Gudauskas Birthday: July 4, 1988 Hometown: San Clemente, California The youngest of the brothers Gudauskas, Tanner's one of the nicest, most well-mannered surfers out there. The motivation and mindset are definitely in place, and he's had a fairly distinguished junior career. A former member of the U.S.A. surf team, Gudauskas is an integral player in the reemergence of San Clemente as a serious surf hot bed. Caught between two different generations, he's giving inspiration and guidance to future stars like Kolohe Andino and Luke Davis, while at the same time he gets to tag along with WQS warriors like his brothers, Dane and Pat, Mike Loseness and Nate Yeomans. He'll be making a strong push on both the junior tour and the WQS this year, which may take him temporarily out of the limelight, but he's too smart to stay away for long. The chink in his armor may be big waves. He's still relatively unproven in open water, but with hellmen like Greg and Rusty Long living just up the street from his folk's house, that will more than likely be remedied. |
