This kid from Kauai made quite a splash on the North Shore this past winter as he undauntedly maintained a 50/50 make-it to eat-shit ratio at Off The Wall. In the masochistic tradition of the North Shore�a-la Shawn Briley�Zietz happily traded lumps for pits, and in doing so gained much respect. “You just take off thinking you’re not going to make it,� confides Zietz, “so if you come out of one it makes it that much better.� Because of the talent coming out of Hawaii right now, like a lot of his peers, Zietz’s struggle is going to be finding some way to separate himself from the others. A madman’s mentality and two thumbs on one hand is a good start.
