Here in the SURFER offices, we heard a little song to describe this rising talent from Newport. It goes something like this: “Erica Hosseini looks great in her bikini / She’s sort of like Kournikova but she’s trying to be Sharapova.� Like it? We do to. And since Hosseini started 2007 with an impressive win in the Pro Junior division at the Roxy Surf Festival in Oz, it seems she’s becoming more and more like Maria everyday.
